New Years Resolutions

Hello and welcome back. It's been a while since I've posted what with mock exams, Christmas, parties and honestly me being lazy!

As it's the new year I thought I'd give you a little update and talk about a few of my new years resolutions.

So, to start with I have finally had my braces taken off! After 4 years of going to my orthodontist and 1 year and 9 months they're off. It's been a long process but definitely been worth it as I now have lovely straight teeth and they were terrible before trust me. I've got new glasses that I actually like after 2 years of having ones that I hardly wore because the frames being too narrow.

But anyway, new years resolutions. Every year I set my self a couple of resolutions but normally by February I've broke them, but this year I'm determined to stick to them. So I decided to right them down in the hope that it'll help.

The first one is to read a book a month. I love to read but I can never find the time until I go on holiday. However once i'I've started one there's not much stopping me. I've already got some for the first three months and I'm up to chapter 9 on the first one, so that going good.

The next is to be healthier. Rather than saying I want to loose so much weight, I want to be healthier with a combination of eating better and exercising, because I get out of breath walking up two flights of stairs, trust me. I have set a goal for this one. It's July this year because my family and I will be going out to Cyprus for my sisters wedding so I'd like to be more body confident by then.

Another one is to make more of an effort. Whether it be with college work, my blog or even with spend more time with my family rather than being sat in my room scrolling through tumblr!

So that's just a few of my new years resolutions for 2014. I hope you've had a good start and the rest of the year is even better!

Winter Essentials

So I've not posted in a while, well since September and it's now nearly December! So in preparation of the winter months I thought I'd tell you about some of my essentials.

The first is a lip balm. I get extremely dry and chapped lips around this time of year, so I never leave the house without one. The one i'm using the most at the moment is the Maybelline Baby Lips in mint fresh. I helps to soft and moisturize your lips and it smells nice too!

The next is the Neutrgena visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub. I leaves my face feeling fresh and refreshed. Its great to help me wake up in a morning as i'm not the best person for getting up.

My final winter essential is a candle. There is nothing better than coming in from the cold, putting your pajamas on and lighting a candle. I'm not going to lie, I have quite a few but the ones I've been burning the most are the Wax Lyrical Jelly Bean ones in Toasted Marshmallow and Sizzling Cinnamon.

So there's a few of the things I can't go without during winter.

First Impressions - Maybelline Baby Lips

I've wanted to try the baby lips lip balms for a while now, however as I live in the UK it wasn't possible. So as soon As I found out they were being sold here I was on a mission to find them. And find them I did! To make it even better they were on a 3 for 1 offer. So naturally I bought all six.

They range from Hydrate; a clear balm that softens your lips and gives a natural look, to Cherry Me which nourishes and gives a slight colour to your lips and a good alternative to a lipstick.

So far so good for the Baby Lips but what do you think?

Apologies

So, during the last two weeks I have been away in Cornwall for my holidays. My two older sisters who don't live with me also came down with my niece and brother-in-law. I had a great time; going to the beach, eating lots of ice cream and of course a sneaky bit of shopping! However, where I was staying the WiFi wasn't great so I wasn't able to write and upload a blog post. I apologies for this lack of posts but business will resume as normal as of this week and I leave you this a few photos from my holiday.

July Favourites

I still can't believe that another month is over! July has been very relaxed after all the hard work of the last couple of months. Lots of sun bathing and preparations for my up coming holiday taking place. Lots of products used and loved and some not so much. So here it is, my July favourites.

My first favourite from July is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. I don't like to wear heavy make up during the summer, but my skin is not great at the moment and this BB Cream is great. It gives great coverage whilst still feeling light. It's very easily build-able for those days you feel like your skin is not at it's best and to top it off it has SPF 20 to protect your skin when out in the sun.

The next product is the Piz Buin In Sun ultra light sun spray. Now I'm quiet picky with sun cream as I hate feeling sticky for ages after applying it but with this I don't. It absorbs in to your skin almost instantly. It has SPF 50, UVA and UVB protection. I can normally get away with an SPF 20 or 30 but with the recent heatwave I didn't want to take my chances and then get burnt.

The next item is the Avon glimmerstick eye liner in brown. It's extremely rare that a go out without eye liner on because I feel eyes look a bit lost on my face without it. Crazy I know! I normally wear black eye liner as it's such a classic but I felt I needed a softer colour for summer, so I went for brown to go with my hair for a natural look whilst still framing my eyes.

Another of my favourite products of July are the Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks. I'd been looking for these for a while now but my local Boots never had them in stock when I went in. So when I went to a large store I had to pick up 2! I got the very popular Peach on the Beach and Orange Punch. I've heard lots of amazing things about these, but wow! The pigmentation is fantastic, they're great for every day and can built up for a more intense, pop of colour for the evenings. It's the feeling of a lip balm but the colour intensity of a lipstick. It's a win, win situation.

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I've been buying a lot of nail polish this last month, some would say too much, but I don't think you can ever have too much of a good thing! In particular I've been buying the new Barry M Gelly nail paints. I currently have 8, which I didn't realize until I went to pick my top 2, which I'm telling you was a very difficult decision. The two I ended on picking we're passion fruit and papaya which I think might be my holiday colours. They're thicker than a normal nail polish and don't chip as easily, which has been great at work recently.

Another month. Another lot of products I've been loving. Hope you enjoyed.
